Computer Volunteers
Assist your child’s class in learning new computer skills!
Grades K-3
Goal: To provide HANDS-ON ASSISTANCE in the computer lab during your child’s computer ancillary time or to assist with computer lab projects during the year
Needed: One classroom chairperson to help coordinate the class volunteer schedule and two volunteers per class meeting (All volunteers must be VIPS approved.)
Training: Ms. Provencher, the K-2 computer teacher, will have a few training times available for a mandatory orientation for parents who are new to computer volunteering. At this orientation, she will explain appropriate ways to help during class time.
Training Dates are Wednesday, September 26, and Wednesday, October 3, at 8:00am in room 116 (K-2 computer lab).
Time Commitment: Approximately one hour, one to two days per month based on your child’s rotating 8-day ancillary class schedule and the number of interested volunteers. Computer schedules will be emailed monthly. The complete ancillary and magnet schedule is posted on the West U web site at http://es.houstonisd.org/westuniversity.
