To ensure the safety of all our children, HISD requires an approval procedure for all volunteers interacting with students. It is a two-step process. Please complete the process as soon as possible so that you receive approval prior to the school activity.
All parents approved last year via the process listed below have “rolled over”. Therefore, no action is needed by parents who were VIPS approved last year.
Steps for VIPS Approval:
1. Visit the H.I.S.D. VIPS website.
2. Take your driver’s license to the front office and ask one of the office staff to make a copy for VIPS per the HISD policy.
NOTE: When steps 1 and 2 are complete, a criminal background check will be performed. The process can take several weeks.
